Any way, Ezra was named for American modernist poet Ezra Pound. First of all for the delightful pun with the name Pound, as she'll be getting pretty heavy in the next chapter. Secondly, Pound as a poet was notable for founding modernism, and rebelling against the previous ages conventions and meters which I thought was appropriate for Ezra. I established that she wanted to be different from pretty much all other pokemon by giving up pokemon conventions of being fit, in exchange for an academic science education. And your big hint was in the story, Lee found Ezra near a metro station. Pound is very famous for his poem, "In a station of the metro." I know it may be really pretentious to name a character in a pokemon story after one of the greatest American poets to ever live, but I drew the parallels in my own head and, yeah Ezra is a pretty cool name.
